Maccabi Tel Aviv FC is delighted to announce the return of Dan Glazer, who has signed a two-year contract with an option to extend for a further season, after an agreement was reached with Kairat Almaty for his transfer.

The 29-year-old midfielder returns to Maccabi after three seasons abroad, during which he represented Greek side OFI Crete, Russia’s FC Pari Nizhny Novgorod, and Kazakhstan’s Kairat Almaty.

After signing his contract, Glazer, who made 202 appearances for Maccabi in the past and will wear the number 18 shirt, said: “It’s a special feeling to return home. Maccabi Tel Aviv has always been my club, and I’m proud and excited to wear the Yellow-and-Blue colors once again. Even while I was abroad, I followed Maccabi closely and always felt connected to the club. I’m grateful for the opportunity to return home, and I’m looking forward to giving everything I have every single day to help the team achieve its goals and bring more success to the club.”

A graduate of the Maccabi Tel Aviv Academy, Glazer progressed through the club’s youth ranks, captained the U-19’s Youth Team before making his senior debut in 2015. Following successful loan spells at Beitar Tel Aviv Ramle and Maccabi Netanya, Glazer returned to Maccabi in the summer of 2018 and quickly established himself as a key member of the first team.

During his five-year spell with the first team, Glazer helped Maccabi win seven domestic trophies: 2 League Championships (18/19 and 19/20), the State Cup (20/21), 2 Toto Cups (18/19 and 20/21), and 2 Super Cups (19/20 and 20/21). Glazer also played an important role in Maccabi’s qualification for the Europa League group stage (20/21) and the Conference League group stage (21/22), making a total of 35 appearances in UEFA competitions.

In the summer of 2023, Glazer embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining OFI Crete, where he made 27 appearances. The following season, he moved to Russia to join FC Pari Nizhny Novgorod, making 15 appearances during the first half of the campaign before transferring to Kairat Almaty in January 2025.

During his 18-month spell with Kairat, Glazer made 41 appearances in all competitions, helping the club win the Kazakhstan League title and qualify for the Champions League and featured in Kairat’s historic debut campaign in Europe’s premier club competition.

Glazer represented the Israel national team in 21 matches as well as 53 appearances for the young national sides at U21, U19, U18, U17 and U16’s levels.
