Maccabi Tel Aviv FC expresses its deepest sympathies on the passing of Avraham Avraham at 96 years of age and is recognized as one of the team’s oldest fans. Over the course of the years the Club kept in contact with the Holocaust survivor including visits to his home along with honoring him at one of the Yellow & Blue’s matches four years ago.

Avraham was born in November 1920 and was a fan of the Club since the founding of the State of Israel. He fought in the Jewish Brigade during World War II and helped bring immigrants to the land of Israel. Avraham also fought in many of the country’s wars and earned six medals of honor. He was a big football fan and played for Maccabi Bucharest along with Maccabi Holon in Israel as well as even coaching the team itself. He spoke to the Maccabi first team and youth players about his experiences over the years at his home as well. He will be missed.
