Bar Lin (18) will continue at Maccabi Tel Aviv for at least the next three years after signing a new contract until the end of the 2025/26 season with an option to extend by another year.

After signing his new contract, Lin told the club’s official website: “As a young kid at Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Youth Department everyone’s dream was to reach and play for the first team, but only a few manage to fulfil that dream. To be one of those players, is an amazing feeling. Now that I have signed a professional contract I would like to train hard, play well hoping to be able to continue my development at the club I grew up at. The journey is still long and there is plenty of work ahead but I am ready for this challenge”.

Maccabi’s CEO, Ben Mansford, added: “I recently met Bar and his family for the first time. What came across from them was Bar’s desire to want to play football for Maccabi at the highest level and to prove his ability. We are delighted that Bar and his family have committed their future to Maccabi. It continues a commitment to youth from Mitch and the Club that now spans over 13 years. Bar Lin joined Maccabi’s Youth Department from Rishon Lezion at the age of 11 before rising through the ranks and making his senior debut  appearance in March 2022 at a State Cup Quarter Final tie against Maccabi Jaffa.  

Last season Lin scored 8 goals in 32 appearances for the U19’s Maccabi Tel Aviv ‘Shahar’ and made his senior league debut against Hapoel Be’ersheva.

Lin represented Israel’s young national sides on 12 international matches and has one goal to his name.

Sheran Yeini will remain a Maccabi Tel Aviv player for at least the 2023/24 season after the captain who last season made his 544^th appearance, signed a contract extension with an option to extend by another year.

The 36-year-old captain who won over the years at Maccabi 14 trophies: 5 Championships, 2 State Cups, 5 Toto Cups and 2 Super Cups, said after extending his contract: “ I am delighted and proud to continue being part of the most decorated club in Israel, Maccabi Tel Aviv – my home. I am hungry to achieve things and know that so are our fans. There is a lot of hard work before us, and I expect to begin preparations for the forthcoming season. I hope to contribute from my experience to the younger generation, and lead a team full of courage passion and commitment to give our amazing set of fans an exciting and good season”.

Maccabi’s CEO, Ben Mansford, added: We are pleased that Sheran is continuing to extend his story with Maccabi. Sheran knows what it means to be Maccabist and knows that knowledge is invaluable as we look to win titles again. Yeini is ranked 2^nd in the all-time club appearance record, also leads the list of players with 82 international appearances in European competitions.  

Maccabi Tel Aviv will kick off the pre-season training camp in Marbella, Spain with a practice match against South Africa’s giants Orlando Pirates on July 13th. Coached by Jose Riviero, the Bucaneers who won the South African league title 9 times and reached the CAF Confederations Cup final twice (2015 and 2021/22) finished last season’s South African league campaign in the runners-up spot as well as 2 South African Cups.

Maccabi will hold the pre-season training camp in Spain (9.7-18.7) at Madrid and Marbella where they will face the Pirates on July 13th, take on Premiership outfit Bournemouth on July 16th and are set to play a third friendly (TBA).

Two days after returning to Israel, Maccabi will travel to Turner for the first official match of the 2023/24 season for the Toto Cup knockout match against Hapoel Be’ersheva. The winner of that knockout match will advance to the Semi Final of the Toto Cup, while the loser will play for positions 5-8 of the competition.  

Dor Turgeman will continue at Maccabi Tel Aviv for at least the next three years after signing a new contract until the end of the 2025/26 season with an option to extend by one more year.

Turgeman, who scored one goal in 19 appearances in all competitions for Maccabi’s senior side, told the club’s official website after his signing: “I have experienced an amazing and invigorating year which improved in the summer and just got even better with the signing of my new contract at Maccabi. What got me to where I am now is hard work, belief in my ability to improve and the drive to score goals. I intend to work hard, fight for my place in the team and to do everything for the success of this club and the fans so that we have actually achieve those goals”.

Turgeman joined Maccabi’s Youth Academy from Ashdod in 2019 and made his senior debut at the age of 17 during the Toto Cup Final victory over Bnei Sakhnin in August 2020. In his first full season with Maccabi’s U17’s, Turgeman scored 19 league goals and 3 more goals the following season with the U19’s. A year exactly after making his senior debut , Turgeman made his second appearance in a Toto Cup tie against Hapoel Jerusalem and even scored one of the goals in a penalty shoot-out. The rest of the 2021/22 season Turgeman spent on loan with second division outfit Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam for which he scored 4 goals in 32 appearances. Turgeman scored his senior debut goal for Maccabi in the State Cup tie against Maccabi Petah Tikva as overall he made in the 2022/23 season 16 appearances in all competitions.

In the summer of 2022 Turgeman was part of Israel’s Under 19’s squad (for which he had scored 5 goals in 17 international appearances) and qualified to the final of the European Under 19 championship where Israel finished in second place. In the summer of 2023 Turgeman led Israel to the Semi Finals of the U20 World Cup in Argentina scoring two goals and adding an assist on the way to the historic achievement. Turgeman’s busy summer is set to continue after he was called up to the Israel U21 squad which qualified to European Final tournament in Georgia where they will face Germany, England and the Czech Republic.

 

 

Maccabi Tel Aviv FC exercised the option to extend Eyal Golasa’s contract by one more year until the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Golasa (31) who joined the club in the summer of 2016 and scored 13 goals in 220 appearances in all competitions, will remain a Maccabi player for the 8^th season in Yellow and Blue.

Maccabi Tel Aviv FC also exercised options in the contracts of Amit Glazer until the end of the 2023/24 season, and Schahar Rozen, Niv Berkovic and Itay Ben Hemo who will all remain Maccabi players until the end of the 2024/25 season.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper who joined Maccabi from Maccabi Haifa said: “I am feeling great, the feelings are good and I am happy to join such a big club and can’t wait for the season to start“ Mishpati said, “I know what is Maccabi Tel Aviv because all my friends are Maccabi fans. It is a club which needs to fight for all the titles and I believe we will do so.”

Mishpati, who made his first footballing footsteps at Hapoel Rishon Lezion, moved to Ashdod where he played the majority of his senior career, added: “I will give everything to do my best on the pitch in order to make the fans and the people who believe in me happy. All my life I gave everything for the success of the team and I will keep on doing my best so that we succeed.”

Roi Mishpati became Maccabi’s first signing of the 2023/24 season after the 30-year-old keeper signed a 2-year-deal with an option to extend by a further season.

Mishpati (192cm), who will wear the number 90 shirt told the club’s official website: “This is a great moment for me in my career and I am absolutely delighted to be joining a club of Maccabi’s stature. I was raised in Rishon Lezion and most of the city supports so I know exactly how big this club is and of the incredible support that it enjoys, and I can’t wait to play in front of the fans at Bloomfield.”

A product of Hapoel Rishon Lezion’s youth academy, Mishpati, joined Ashdod SC in 2011 before making his senior league debut against Maccabi Netanya in November that year. He played a key role in Ashdod’s promotion back to the top flight in the 2015/16 season, and gained further experience during a one season long loan spell during the 2017/18 season at Rishon Lezion where he made 41 appearance for the second division outfit . In nine seasons at Ashdod, Mishpati made a total of 105 appearances in all competitions before securing a move to Maccabi Haifa at the start of the 2021/22 season. In two seasons at Haifa, Mishpati made 23 appearances.
