Maccabi Tel Aviv will hold their first friendly of their Poland Training Camp when they meet Arka Gdynia of the Ekstraklasa, Poland’s First Division in what will be the first match under the Club’s new Head Coach Vladan Ivic. The club from the city of Gdynia returned to the country’s first division in 2016/17 and ended this past campaign in 12th on the Ekstraklasa table. The team also made it to the Poland Cup Final where they fell to Legia Warsaw and advanced to the third round of Europa League qualifying in 2017/18 where they were eliminated by Midtjylland of Denmark 4:4 on away goals.

Season Ticket Renewals are underway and there have been a number of important items that have been brought to our attention that we would like to clarify before the new campaign begins.

Purchasing Season Tickets from an unlicensed vendor
It has come to our attention that a number of season ticket holders have sold their season tickets to other fans without transferring the ownership of the season ticket itself. It’s important to note that you won’t be able to receive service for a season ticket that is not under your ownership and a transfer form has not been completed and approved as explained here. A fan that has a season ticket that is not under their ownership will not be able to enjoy season ticket holder benefits that are included in the season ticket package. That includes purchasing tickets that are not part of the season ticket package and being able to receive service from the ticket agency.

In addition, there won’t be an option to print tickets from a season ticket account this coming season. Only in extreme circumstances the season ticket holder may approach the Leaan ticket representative at the stadium box office to see if they can help. You must arrive at the matches with your season ticket. Service will not be provided to someone who is not the season ticket owner.

Adjustments to the Away Points Allocation Program for new fans:
The Points Allocation Program will continue this season. We believe that this is the fairest way to sell tickets to matches where the demand exceeds supply. In order for all fans to accumulate enough points to purchase tickets, we have decided that points earned three years earlier will be eliminated from the account. For example, in 2019/20, points accumulated in 2016/17 will be eliminated. In 2020/21 points accumulated in 2017/18 will be eliminated.
This step was taken in order to allow fans who could not attend matches during a specific period of time (Soldiers, Students, those out of the country) the opportunity to earn points.

Maccabi Tel Aviv officially opened up training camp near the city of Gdansk, Poland. The club landed in the middle of the night and held their first training session in the morning under Head Coach Vladan Ivic and the new professional staff.

The Yellow & Blue will hold an additional session in the evening and tomorrow (19:00) the club will play their first friendly against Arka Gdynia of the Poland First Division, Ekstraklasa.

A week after opening up preseason training for the 2018/19 campaign, Maccabi Tel Aviv arrived near the city of Gdańsk, Poland where their training camp will take place under new Head Coach Vladan Ivic and his staff.

The camp will run for ten days as the squad will also play three friendlies over the time in Poland. The first match will take place on Monday June 25th (19:00) against Arka Gdynia. Ivic’s side will then face APOEL Nicosia on Thursday June 28th (19:00) and Bytovia Bytów on Sunday July 1st (19:00) right before returning to Israel.

This past Wednesday, Maccabi was drawn to play Ferencváros of Hungary in Europa League First Round Qualifying. The first leg will take place on July 12th in Hungary while the return leg will be played in Israel the following week.

The Maccabi Tel Aviv players continued their preparations for the new season as the day began with medical checkups. A special team from the Hadassah Medical Center arrived at the Kiryat Shalom Training Facility where they did blood, Echo and EKG tests on the players.

Following the medical checkups, Vladan Ivic’s squad returned to the pitch for a morning training session, the first of two practices that would take place on the day.

Following yesterday’s Europa League first round qualifying draw where it was determined that the Yellow & Blue would face Ferencváros of Hungary, Maccabi will move their preparations up a gear next week. On Saturday night, the Club will depart for their training camp near the city of Gdańsk in Poland.

During the course of the camp, the team will play three friendlies against Arka Gdynia (Poland), APOEL Nicosia (Cyprus) and Bytovia Bytów (Poland).

Preparations for the 2018/19 Israel Premier League Ligat Ha’Al season may have just gotten underway and today, Tuesday the fixtures for the upcoming campaign were determined at a draw held at the Netanya Stadium.

The season will begin on August 25th and Maccabi Tel Aviv along with the other teams in the league found out their opponents and match dates which includes an opening day clash against Maccabi Haifa and a Matchday 2 trip to Hapoel Beer Sheva. The Derby against Hapoel Tel Aviv is slated for Matchday 5 and the following Matchday Maccabi will visit Beitar Jerusalem at Teddy Stadium.

The draw for the First Round of the Europa League Qualifying took place today as it was determined that Maccabi Tel Aviv will play Ferencváros of Hungary in a two legged tie. The Yellow & Blue will look to advance to the European competition for the 3rd straight season and 5th overall in club history.

The first leg will take place on July 12th in Hungary while the return contest will be one week later on July 19th in Israel. Maccabi will begin their European campaign in the first round of qualifying and will be seeded all the way through qualification and most probably the playoff round.

Should Maccabi advance to the second round of Europa League qualifying, the matches will take place on July 26th while the return leg will be played on August 2nd.

Nemzeti Bajnokság I Hungary League Champions: Ferencváros

Ferencváros is known as one of the prestigious clubs in Hungary. In the mid 1990’s the team advanced to the Champions League Group Stages and faced the likes of Ajax and Real Madrid. Over the past few seasons, the Budapest based club has played in Europe but hasn’t been able to make it out of the second round of qualifying. The team plays at the Groupama Arena which holds 23,700 spectators.

Former German footballer Thomas Doll (Hamburg, Lazio, Frankfurt) is the club’s Head Coach while one of the most well known names in his squad is 39-year old Zoltán Gera who played in England for West Bromwich Albion and Fulham. Another familiar name is Tamás Priskin who played in the past for Maccabi Haifa.

Maccabi’s coach Vladan Ivic told the club’s official website: “Ferencvaros is the biggest and most prestigious club in Hungary but so is Maccabi in Israel. We are working hard to prepare for this tie against the Hungarians and will be ready for the first game on July 12th. Our aim at Maccabi will be to qualify to the next round”.

Should Maccabi advance to the second round of qualifying they will face either Radnički Niš from Serbia or the winner of UE Sant Julià of Andorra and Gzira United from Malta.

The Yellow & Blue will need to advance through four stages in order to reach the Europa League Group Stages and will be seeded through at least the Playoff Round.
