The young Omri Altman, who plays in both midfield and forward positions, came up through the Maccabi Tel Aviv youth system and after proving his worth with the Under-17s joined the Maccabi Under-19s before reaching his 17th birthday. He scored goals in each of his first four appearances for the team and drew the attention of the English Premier League side Fulham F.C. He first joined Fulham on loan but the London club then decided to make his move permanent. He started in the Cottagers' youth team but moved on to the reserve team where he made 24 appearances and scored two goals in the 2012/13 season.

The 19 year-old was also capped for the Israeli Under-21 side that competed in the 2013 European Under-21 Championships that were held in Israel in June and made one substitute appearance in Israel's 1-0 victory over England. In the summer of 2013 Altman returned to the club of his youth and signed a three-year contract with the senior squad at Maccabi Tel Aviv. His maiden appearance for Maccabi was in the starting line-up at the club's first official match of the 2013/14 season, a 0-2 away win against Hungarian champions Gyori in the second round of the summer's Champions League qualifiers.
