Robert Earnshaw will be heading back to Cardiff City and will not be part of the squad for Monday's match against Kiryat Shmona

Striker Robert Earnshaw, 31, who joined Maccabi on loan from The Bluebirds of English Championship club Cardiff City in September, told the clubs' official website: Due to circumstances and some family consideratIons I have to go back to Cardiff. It's very hard to leave such a big football club like Maccabi Tel Aviv especially in the position it is in. I am very happy to have contributed to the club being in the top spot and hope the rest of the team can carry on with the work and win the championship at the end of the season. I would like to thank all the fans for their great support and also members of the club who have been good to me. I will keep supporting Maccabi from afar and hope they achieve great things in future. I am very sad to be leaving Tel Aviv and feel honoured to have played for such an illustrious club where I have met so many wonderful people and made friends for life

Maccabi's Sports Director Jordi Cruyff added: "Robert played a significant part in helping us capture the top spot with two winning goals against Ashdod and Maccabi Netanya. We all appreciate his professionalism and attitude over the past four months and we wish him all the best for the future".
