Fitness coach Yossi Kakun has left Maccabi Tel Aviv after one and a half years with the club: "I wish Maccabi every success in the future"

After a year and a half at the club, Yossi Kakun has left Maccabi Tel Aviv for personal reasons after reaching an agreement on the termination of his tenure as the first team's fitness coach. "As fitness coach Yossi is professional, reliable, thorough and meticulous. His work is appreciated by the club's players, staff and management alike", said the club's sports director Jordi Cruyff.  Kakun, who joined Maccabi in June of 2011, added: "For personal reasons we have reached agreement for my departure in an orderly and honourable fashion. I have only the best of thoughts about the club, I wish the management and the players the very best for the future".

Kakun began his career in football at the end of the 1980's at Hapoel Ashkelon and worked for quite a few different clubs, being promoted with no less than seven different teams in the course of his career as fitness coach. At the beginning of the "noughties" he arrived at Hapoel Beer Sheva where he remained for eight years, working with such renowned Israeli coaches as Eli Gutman, Michael "Lufa" Kadosh and others and gaining promotion with the club to the Israeli Premier League. In addition to his work with league clubs, Kakun was also fitness coach for various Israeli national youth squads. After gaining promotion to the Premier League in the 2009/10 season with Hapoel Ashkelon and their coach, former Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Uri Malmilyan, Kakun spent one season at Beitar Jerusalem and in the summer of 2011 was appointed fitness coach at Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Maccabi Tel Aviv FC wish to thank Yossi for his contribution to the club and wish him the best of luck in the future.
