Maccabi Tel Aviv head coach Paulo Sousa has been invited by UEFA to draw the teams for the Champions League group stage at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco on Thursday August 29th. As a player Sousa twice lifted the Champions League trophy in successive years, with Italian giants Juventus in 1996 and with German heavyweights Borussia Dortmund in 1997.
Reacting to his invitation to take part in such a prestigious ceremony, Sousa said to the official Maccabi Tel Aviv website: "It is both a great personal honour and as a coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv to take part in an event viewed by millions of people all over the world. Ideally I would have preferred to sit in the audience and await the outcome, but looking forward Friday's draw for the group stage is for us just as important and exciting".
