Young midfielder Moshe "Moshiko" Lugassi has agreed a two-year extension on his contract at Maccabi Tel Aviv, just as the club agreed in principle to his loan to Beitar Jerusalem till the end of the season. Lugassi told the club's official website: "I'm joining Beitar on loan to get more playing time on the pitch, to help Beitar achieve their goals for this season and to return to Maccabi a better and stronger player".

Lugassi began his career at Maccabi in the teams of the MTA Youth Division and made his maiden appearance for the first team towards the end of the 2010/11 Israeli Premier League season in a 2-2 draw against Maccabi Petach Tikva. Last year he scored one of the goals of the season in the ninth minute of extra time to seal a 2-3 Maccabi Tel Aviv win over Bnei Yehuda. All told, Lugassi has made 81 appearances for the senior team and scored four times in Israeli Premier League play.
