Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Eran Zahavi will be rested and receive treatment for a light muscle strain in his thigh that forced him to leave the pitch in the first half of Sunday's dramatic stoppage time win against Maccabi Haifa

Maccabi Tel Aviv's leading goal scorer, Eran Zahavi, underwent tests last night that confirmed the MTA medical staff's initial diagnosis that the injury to his thigh that forced the midfielder to depart Sunday night's home tie against Maccabi Haifa in the 37th minute was a light muscle strain. His replacement, fellow midfielder Mahran Radi, went on to assist the team to book a dramatic 1-0 stoppage time win, courtesy of a Gal Alberman goal, that increased Maccabi Tel Aviv's lead at the top of the Israeli Premier League table to eleven points. Zahavi meanwhile will continue to receive treatment by Maccabi's medical staff and his situation will be assessed on a daily basis.
