Today all of Maccabi Tel Aviv's Youth Division teams participated in a Memorial Day ceremony held at Kiryat Shalom

As in every year, today the Maccabi Tel Aviv Youth Division held a Memorial Day ceremony at their complex at Kiryat Shalom training ground. The ceremony, which began by lowering the Israeli flag to half mast, was attended by all the members of the various Youth Division teams and their coaching staffs. Six of the young Maccabi players read poems in memory of Israel's fallen soldiers: Shaun Goldberg and Dan Glazer of the Under-19s and Omer Katz, Ophir Tweeg, Omer Lakou and Abed Alsalam Salame of the Under-16s. Leon Asraf, head coach of the Under-12 Team South, called Maccabi Tel Aviv "Oz" in memory of the late Oz Tzemah, lit the ceremonial flame. Oz Tzemah was a devoted Maccabi Tel Aviv fan who died in battle in 2006. The club's Under-15 team, Maccabi Tel Aviv "Eldad", is also named after a devoted fan of the club, Eldad Regev, who as a reservist also died in service in 2006.
