Striker Barak Badash has joined Maccabi Tel Aviv on a one-and-a-half year contract this afternoon and will wear the number 23 jersey

Maccabi Tel Aviv have signed Barak Badash from Ironi Kiryat Shmona on a one-and-a-half year deal. Just at the beginning of the month, Maccabi travelled to Kiryat Shmona and were handed a 3-1 defeat, largely due to a brace by the 31 year-old veteran striker. He returned to Kiryat Shmona this past summer after spending a season out on loan at the Belgian first division side Beveren, where he scored eight league goals. This season Badash has five goals to his credit. The veteran striker has previously played at Bnei Yehuda, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Ashdod FC, Hakoach Amidar Ramat Gan and Hapoel Beer Sheva, before joining Ironi Kiryat Shmona in 2010, winning with them the Israeli Premier League championship in the 2011/12 season.

Maccabi Tel Aviv sports director Jordi Cruyff had this to say to the official Maccabi website: "We've taken great pains to add to our squad a player with the profile and qualities of Barak Badash. I'm sure he'll settle in well at the club and help us achieve our goals for the season".

Badash had this to say to the official Maccabi website: "This was an excellent opportunity for me to join a big club and I hope to repay the belief the club have shown in me. I can't wait to start training with my new friends at the Kiryat Shalom training ground, which I saw for the first time on Friday. As a member of the opposing team I've already made acquaintance with the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, but I'll get another opportunity when I go to see the team play tonight in Netanya. Obviously, though, the atmosphere at Bloomfield Stadium will be an entirely different experience".
