The long wait is over, The Israel Premier League will finally kick off next week. Take out your diaries

Last night the Israeli Football Association and the league management announced the fixture schedule for the Israeli Premier League for the coming month. So far Maccabi Tel Aviv are concerned the opening salvo will be the team's "Toto" (League) Cup quarter-final home leg on Wednesday September 10th at 8.30pm against Hapoel Petach Tikva. The date of the away leg will be fixed in the coming days.

After endless postponements, the 2014/15 Israeli Premier League season will finally get underway three days later, with Maccabi Tel Aviv seeing their first action the following day, Sunday September 14th, when they travel to the "Moshava" Stadium to play Maccabi Petach Tikva. The match will kick off at 8.15pm and be broadcast on Israeli sports channel Sport 1 HD starting at 8.05pm. A week later, on Sunday September 21st, Maccabi fans will have their first opportunity to see their beloved side play a league match at Bloomfield Stadium. Guests will be Hapoel Ra'anana and the match will begin at 8.15pm, with broadcasts on Sport 1 and Sport 1 HD.

Between the Jewish holidays of New Year and Yom Kippur, on Monday September 29th, Maccabi will finish this month's encounters at the very stadium where just four months ago they played their season 2013/14 championship match, Vassermill Stadium. Opponents of course will be home side and last year's Israeli Premier League runners-up Hapoel Beer Sheva. This final fixture of matchweek 3 will kick off at 8.40pm and be broadcast on Israeli channel 11.
