The Maccabi team got a first-hand look at how the club's special brand of beer is brewed

Just after finishing their post-match practice, the Maccabi Tel Aviv squad and coaching staff boarded the club coach and headed out for training of a very different kind altogether. Their destination: The Jem's Beer Brewery in Petach Tikva. The team enjoyed a guided tour among the giant vats and got a first-hand look at the brewing process, the bottling plant and the packaging of Maccabi's own special brand, MTA beer. After the short tour, the players and staff members gathered round the table to get a taste of what has now become their favourite brand of beer (after the matches only, of course!).

The team's visit is the latest step in the collaboration between Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Jem's Beer Brewery that began last summer during the World Cup finals in Brazil and has now resulted in the sale of the club's official MTA beer at dozens of off-licenses all around the country. Whether you're alone or with friends, at home or in the pub, MTA beer is the perfect combination of a quality lager and your favourite quality football club.

When asked by the official Maccabi website crew what he thought of the final product, Spanish defender Carlos Garcia was happy to oblige: "It's a very good beer and a good job by the marketing staff. I think they've brought the club one step higher with these things and I say to all our fans to try it because it's a great beer. There are football clubs in Barcelona that are supported by breweries but none of them have their own brand".
