Javier ‘Javi’ Periera and Alberto Escobar will join Maccabi Tel Aviv’s coaching staff as the assistants of Slavisa Jokanovic

The newly appointed Serbian coach added the duo who worked under him at Watford and assisted in guiding The Hornets’ promotion to the Premier League.
 
Javi Periera, 49 joined Juan Ignacio Martinez’ coaching staff at UD Salamanca and continued with him to Albacete. After two years of work under Martinez, Periera joined the coaching staff of Alaves. A year later he returned to work with Martinez this time for Cartagena and in 2010/11 continued as the assistant of Martinez to Levante and Real Valladolid CF. During last season, Periera was the assistant of Jokanovic at Watford.

Alberto Escobar, 45 year-old Spaniard, joined Cartagena’s coaching staff under Ignacio Martinez and a year later was appointed at Hercules. Five years later, in the summer of 2012 Escobar joined Levante and Periera as the duo continued working together before joining Real Valladolid in the summer of 2013. Last season Escobar worked as an analyst at Watford under Jokanovic.
