Omri Ben Harush, one of the veteran Yellow-and-Blue defenders had a chance to play with a number of charges from the youth team against Bnei Yehuda. He spoke about their performance, Maccabi’s deep squad and looked forward to the Derby on Saturday night against Hapoel Tel Aviv:

“The Toto Cup is known for giving a chance to the younger players from the youth squad to play and see what they have to offer and what the future has in store. The match didn’t go the way we wanted today but we saw a number of youngsters that played well who will continue to work hard to reach the next level.”

On having many players on the team:

“We have a deep squad and the coach has to use the players he has and give them a chance to play as well. Again, we have many players who can play on any given day and the coach has to make sure that we are all in game shape.”

The composition of the squad:

“The lineup we played with was not what we would usually play, but that’s what the coach decided to do today. We always play to win every match but today it didn’t happen.”

On Saturday’s Derby:

“The Derby’s a very important game for us and we will come very prepared for the challenge and get the best result that we can. We will be very vigilant against Hapoel and even though we may be higher on the table this doesn’t mean anything in a Derby. We’ll come ready to play and take the points.”
