The 2015/16 season is coming to a close with the final chapter to be written on May 24th when Maccabi Tel Aviv faces Maccabi Haifa at the State Cup Final in Jerusalem. This evening, the Club held its annual Gala where the “Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club Foundation” was launched and funds were raised for UNICEF Israel as well. The Season Awards Winners were also announced at this exclusive event attended by over 500 people.

The committee who voted for the various awards was comprised of former Club Chairman Gideon Brickman, Club Manager Benny Tabak along with a pair of ex-players Eli Drikes and Boni Ginzburg.

To open the evening the first award was the Youth Player Goal of the Season sponsored by Profit and was handed out by the company’s CEO Shlomi Alberg and former player Moshe Schweitzer.

The nominees for the category were: Gaby Kanichowsky, Haviv Ohayon, Eden Kartzev, Eliel Peretz and Thomas Prince. Ohayon’s 90th minute header against Beitar Jerusalem was selected as the Youth Goal of the Season.

The next category was the Future Star which was awarded to Oliel Peretz. The award was given by former Club Manager Moshe Israel and sponsored by Ms. Yam Yagudaev the owner of a wedding dress and haute couture boutique along with ex-player Haim Levin.

The Goal of the Season was sponsored by Florentin House and owner Yishai Mor awarded the prize along with ex-player Vicki Peretz to Eran Zahavi for his tying goal in the 2:2 draw at Basel in the Champions League qualification match.

The other nominees in this category were: Barak Itzhaki’s goal in the 1:2 match against Viktoria Plzen, Tal Ben Chaim’s winner versus Maccabi Haifa, Nosa Igiebor’s goal in the victory against Maccabi Petach Tikva and Gal Alberman’s tying goal against Kiryat Shemona.

The Player of the Season now took center stage as the nominees included: Eli Dasa, Gal Alberman, Eran Zahavi, Tal Ben Chaim, Dor Micha. The committee awarded the prize to the Captain who also broke the single season goal scoring record, Eran Zahavi.

The award was sponsored and given by Amos Gabay, HP Israel Director who is also the Club’s lead sponsor along with former player Dror Bar Nur.
