Lito Vidigal’s the Yellow & Blue boss looked ahead to his side’s Ligat Ha’Al Matchday 24 contest versus Bnei Yehuda on Saturday night (20:30) at the Netanya Stadium. The Angolan Head Coach discussed life at Maccabi, training and playing a number of matches in a short period of time:

“We have experienced players and they are in this business a long time and they know what they have to do. It’s normal with big teams like Maccabi to know how to play three games in a week. I hope we will have many more of these situations in the future.”

Focusing on the next match:

“We care only about the next game and this is how we work. We have to win against Bnei Yehuda and we just think about the next game. With all due respect to our opponents we have to focus on ourselves.”

Using the best players:

“I always try to use the best players in the moment, I don’t know which players, but the best players at that moment. All the teams are different but we have our way to play. It’s important that we make some adjustments against every team but most importantly we have our philosophy and our way,”

The importance of training:

“Training never finishes. You can work for ten years with the same team but you have to always want to improve and work more and more and more. We have plenty of work to do.”

Adjusting to life at Maccabi:

“The most important thing is about the team and I don’t talk about individual players. We fight together and our goal is to win the games. I need more time to know about everything here as I’ve only been here for a short period of time.”

Using the last match as a platform going forward:

“We fought a lot last game and even though it’s in the past we have to keep up what we are doing.

Vidar Kjartansson and Eyal Golasa’s status:

“If he’s better he will play. If not we have other players and I trust them all. The most important thing is the team. We will see if he will play on Saturday. Golasa hasn’t trained and we will see going forward.”
