The summer after the Club’s first title during the Jordi Cruyff era, Maccabi began their way in Champions League qualifying when they faced an opponent from Hungary. The central defender arrived at Kiryat Shalom from Kiryat Shemona and made his European debut in a match that featured goals by Barak Itzhaki and Gal Alberman to pick up the important win.
