Maccabi Tel Aviv FC can confirm that after much consideration, the Club will not be offering Tal Ben Haim a contract for the 2018/19 season.

Tal began his footballing career at Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Youth Department before progressing through the ranks all the way to the senior side for which he made his full debut against Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2001.

Tal then left Maccabi in 2004 to join Bolton Wanderers before moving to Chelsea, Manchester City, Sunderland, Portsmouth, West Ham, QPR, Standard Liege and Charlton Athletic. After a very successful 11-year-long career abroad, Tal returned to Kiryat Shalom in 2015 .

Tal has made 112 appearances and scored 1 goal in his second stint at Maccabi and was influential in the teams qualification to the Champions League Group stages. He made a total of 234 appearances for Maccabi scoring 3 goals and winning the League title in the 2002/3 season, 2 State Cups in 2000/01 and 2001/02 as well as 1 Toto Cup in 2017/18.

Everyone at the Club thanks Tal for all of his efforts and professionalism over the last 3 seasons. We all know Tal will continue with his professional career and in all likelihood be involved in football beyond the end of his playing career. Maccabi Tel Aviv FC would like to wish Tal all the very best with his future and look forward to paying tribute to him in the future.

Thank you Tal!
