Haviv Ohayon, secured his future to Maccabi having signed a new three-year-deal at the club with an option to extend by a further season.

Ohayon, spent a six-month loan spell at Hapoel Hadera last season where he made 7 League and 2 State Cup appearances.

The 20-year-old keeper who is a regular with the Israel U-21’s for which he made 3 appearances, in addition to 36 more international appearances for the young national sides, told the club’s official website: “I am delighted to continue at the club I really love, I feel at home and was raised on its values. Signing a contract extension here feels as the most natural thing for me and I am grateful for the trust shown in me”.

Maccabi CEO, Ben Mansford, added: “Haviv has had a very challenging last couple of seasons. Haviv went to Watford with a reputation of been one of the best U18 Goalkeepers in Europe. Unfortunately Haviv suffered a serious back injury and only last season returned to full fitness. The loan to Hadera showed glimpses of Haviv returning to himself. Everyone at Maccabi knows that Haviv has the natural talent to be a future Number 1 at the Club and this new deal contunies to show our belief in Haviv.”.
