The 2019/20 season opened up last night as Maccabi won the first title of the campaign after taking home the Champions Cup with a 1:0 win over Bnei Yehuda. Aaron Schoenfeld found the back of the goal for the Yellow & Blue’s lone goal of the contest and he spoke about the win following the match:
“I feel great. It’s always great to start the season by winning a title. It’s fantastic to score and it’s a good beginning to the new campaign which will give us confidence going forward.”
About the new season:
“Last season was quite long with many matches. We are feel like everything is new right now. We lost some players but it’s still the same Maccabi as the heart of the club remains. This is the same club and everyone is enthusiastic about the new season.”
Looking ahead to Cluj:
“We are going into the match with the goal to win and that’s the only thing that we are thinking about. We saw Cluj and they are a good team, but Maccabi is a team of winners; everyone wants to win all the time. Of course we want to win titles and that we want to be in the Champions League Group Stages but we have to take it one match at a time.”
