Maccabi Tel Aviv will play at Turner Stadium against Hapoel Beersheba tonight (kickoff at 20:15).

Maccabi go into the match with a string of 31 unbeaten away matches in the league and are the first team ever to secure a 100 percent record in away matches since the start of a season.

The previous best run of unbeaten away matches was also achieved by Maccabi, in 1951-52 — nine wins and a draw.

Maccabi’s current goal difference in the away streak of wins is 24-3. Nine of the ten matches have ended with a clean sheet.

Vladimir Ivic has included 23 players in those fixtures, four of whom have played all 900 minutes: Daniel Tenenbaum, Dan Glazer, Eitan Tibi and Andre Geraldes.

The current string of wins in away matches actually began in the last round of last season when Maccabi returned victorious from Toto-Turner stadium with a 4-0 win.

Maccabi’s all-time away record against Beersheba shows 21 wins, 17 draws and 16 defeats, with a goal difference of 72-54. Indeed, Maccabi’s 49 percent success rate against their opponents tonight is the best of all 26 clubs who have played in Beersheba.

At the new Turner ground, the record is two wins for Maccabi, two draws and three defeats.

Maccabi have met Beersheba in the 21st round in four of the last ten seasons (2012-14-17-18) and all four of those were home Maccabi games which they won.

Yossi Abuksis, Beersheba’s new coach, does not have a sparkling record against Maccabi when leading clubs against us and his tally stands at four wins, five draws and 15 defeats.
