Just like all of us, Maccabi Tel Aviv’s players are passing the time at home as they wait for the coronavirus crisis to subside. And just like everybody else, they are concentrating on their hobbies and on getting used to a different daily schedule. In this second edition, we have asked Dor Micha, Matan Hozez and Ruslan Barsky to share a little of what they are doing.

What TV series or film do you recommend to pass the time?

“The Pursuit of Happyness with Will Smith, it’s particularly heartwarming.”

What song are you mainly listening to at the moment?

Nothing in particular, but my favourite singers right now are Avihu Pinhasov and Hatikva 6.

What game will you never tire of watching?

“The championship winning game last season against Maccabi Haifa in Netanya.

How are you managing to keep in shape?

“I’m keeping fit through the team exercises via Zoom on my balcony. I have enough equipment to maintain at least my basic fitness.”

What do you most miss at the team?

“The dressing room and the atmosphere at Kiryat Shalom and the fun and the banter.”

Do you mainly cook or wash the dishes?

“I actually do both, I have all the skills.”

Which is your FIFA gaming team?

“I’m not a great fan but when I do play, I’m for Liverpool.”

Who is your favourite TV panelist?

“Amit Segal.”

Who is the most fun in the players’ Whatsapp group?

“It’s neck and neck between Shechter and Kandil.”

Have you developed a particular skill or hobby during the lockdown?

“Nothing new, as I have enough to do with training and studies, which really fill the time.”

Matan Hozez

What TV series or film do you recommend to pass the time?

“Money Heist”

What song are you mainly listening to at the moment?

“Toosie Slide by Drake.”

How are you managing to keep in shape?

“We’ve got the fitness bike that we received from the club and I try to run as much as I can and do strength exercises.”

What do you most miss at the team?

“My friends, the games and particularly the five against two in training.”

Do you mainly cook or wash the dishes?

“I cook quite a lot, mainly omelettes, baked sweet potatoes, salads, chicken breast in teriyaki sauce and pasta.”

Which is your FIFA gaming team?

“Liverpool.”

Who is the most fun in the players’ Whatsapp group?

“Itay Shechter.”

Have you developed a particular skill or hobby during the lockdown?

“I enjoy shooting hoops and hope I can emulate the stats of Kevin Durant.”

What TV series or film do you recommend to pass the time?

“Lucifer. It’s a fantastic series.”

What are you mainly listening to at the moment?

“The Getaway — the last album by Red Hot Chili Peppers.”

What game will you never tire of watching?

“Our game against Panathinaikos in the Europa League. I was 19 in that match and I had an assist in the 3-0 win.”

How are you managing to keep in shape?

“I’m using the fitness bike alongside the team and doing lots of running and power exercises.”

What do you most miss at the team?

“Eyal Golasa.”

Do you mainly cook or wash the dishes?

“I like to cook.”

“I have not played for several years, although when I did, I was for Real Madrid. But that was in the days when Cristiano Ronaldo was still there.”

“Sharon Gal.”

“At the moment it’s Shechter. Kandil has gone a bit silent lately.”

“I’m great at the 5K run.”
