Schechter, who joined Maccabi in the summer of 2018 and won two successive league titles, signed a new contract extension and will continue for a third season at Maccabi where he scored 14 goals in 80 appearances in all competitions.

After signing, the 33 year-old forward told the club’s official website: “I am delighted to stay at Maccabi and continue wearing the kit of the champions. Over the past two years I won two championships with Maccabi and registered quite a few achievements, but the hunger has only grown and we are aiming as high as possible. We have new targets this season and now is the time for all of us to work very hard in order to achieve them”.

Maccabi’s COO, Sharon Tammam, added: “Itay joined Maccabi Tel Aviv two years ago and in a short period of time turned into one of the most popular players amongst his teammates and fans alike. We are delighted that Itay continues for another season and have no doubt that he will contribute to the team in achieving its goals in the coming season”.
