Maccabi Tel Aviv FC girls academy began a new season. Kiryat Shalom training complex hosted yesterday (Sunday) the opening training session of the girls team as part of the club’s Youth Department. The girls academy project is run according to the philosophy of Maccabi’s Performance Director, Patrick van Leeuwen. The project is managed by the coach Dana Nisenboim who is assisted by of coaching staff of male and female coaches in a bid to nurture the young generation of young female players under the best conditions.

The academy will be divided into three age groups according to year of birth: Youth (2001-05), Girls (2006-08) and Youngsters (2009-12).

The girls and U-12’s team will compete in the Israel Football Association designated league. As for the younger age group (U-12’s) should the team not register for league competition they will compete in tournaments and special practice matches against various other teams.
