Maccabi Tel Aviv acting CEO, Sharon Tammam: “Bidding farewell from a player who was raised at the Youth Academy and made all the journey up to the first team, is always a complex issue for both sides, especially when we are dealing with Dor Peretz – a player whose father and brother played at the club and he grew-up on the Maccabizm values. Maccabi Tel Aviv would like to thank Dor for his contribution on and off the pitch during 12 exceptional years during which he played at Maccabi. We are certain that Dor’s personality which was formed over the years would assist him immensely on his journey to fulfill his dream of playing in Europe and we wish him success”.

Dor Peretz told the club’s official website: “At the age of 14 I arrived at Maccabi Tel Aviv or as I see it now – my second home. The club, that the longer time passed by, molded the character I became. The club has built me a rich set of values that could be easily described in one word as ‘Maccabizm’. This word consists of humbleness and modesty, respect for every person or team, assuming responsibility together with strong willpower to always do everything possible for the team, the community, the club and the fans that never stop supporting.

I went through a journey full of challenges that acted as milestones for me. For seven years I wore the Yellow and Blue first-team shirt and every season was excited all over again to wear it and represent the club.

Now my time has come to continue my journey of progress overseas towards the dreams and ambitions I had from a young age. Before spreading my wings I must express my gratitude to all the people who take part in the powerful institute that is Maccabi Tel Aviv. Every coach who worked with me and every person who was there for me in this way or the other during all my years at the club.

Special thanks to my teammates who were always a family to me and every year made me a better player and a better person. A major thank you to you the supporters who welcomed me with open arms back then at the age of 19 when I just emerged from the youth team. Thanks to you, I felt that this is truly a safe and protective home.

Now is my time to embark on a new journey, and march towards my dreams and ambitions. I arrived at Maccabi Tel Aviv as a young kid accompanied by two amazing parents, two unique brothers, and a phenomenal extended family. Today I continue the ascent on my personal mountain accompanied by thousands of people who are members of my family and an integral part of my journey…Thank you very much Maccabi Tel Aviv!”
