Maccabi Tel Aviv dropped two more points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Maccabi Netanya in the second match of the top Playoff. Avi Rikan, who scored Maccabi’s goal with a first half free kick, said at the end of the game: “To start the top Playoff with two draws is not something which really helps our cause of narrowing the gap from the leaders. I think we enjoyed a good run until now. It happened to us last season as well that we didn’t have the best of starts to the season, managed to narrow the gap but in the crucial part of the season when we needed to continue running, we failed in our task. Beating Netanya is always difficult but sadly we didn’t manage to complete our task. We must lift our heads and look forward as there are plenty of matches still left to play until the end of the season”.
