Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Youth Academy began its’ preparations for the 2022/23 season as the first team to do so is the club’s Under 19’s Maccabi Tel Aviv ‘Shahar’. Dedi Ben Dayan, will guide the team for the first time as Head Coach after progressing from the role of Assistant Coach which he held during the past two years. Ben Dayan’s coaching staff will be completed in the next few days with the appointment of a new assistant coach who will join goalkeeping coach Shura Ubarov, Tal Volik the fitness coach and Or Aharon the Physiotherapist. The youth team includes several experienced players as well as young players who graduated from the academy’s Under 17’s.A product of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Youth Academy, Dedi Ben Dayan who made it all to the senior side where he played for five years (1997-2002) joined the Youth Academy several years ago and was the Under 19’s Assistant Coach over the past two seasons. Ben Dayan, who will coach the Youth Academy’s senior team said at the end of the opening training session: “For me this is coming full circle – as a player who made his first footballing footsteps at the academy and especially at the youth team – all the way to the appointment as the U19’s Head Coach. The target now is to work had on the pitch in order to reach all our targets”.Maccabi’s Youth Academy Director, Claudio Braga, added: “Dedi Ben Dayan has been working at Maccabi’s Youth Academy for several years now and developed his coaching skills in the various positions he held. During a very successful playing career both at club and national team levels, as well as his previous role as the U-19’s assistant coach Dedi proved has a lot to give the young generation of players and we are all certain he can help them develop into the future generation  of players. Dedi’s coaching staff will support him with everything that is necessary to achieve our collective and individual goals and we wish him all the best as the coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv Shahar”.
