Ran Binyamin (19), Omer Senior (76) and Anan Khalaili (85) all scored as Israel U20 recorded a 3-1 victory over South Korea to finish the U20 World Cup finals in Argentina with the bronze medal.
Maccabi’s duo Shon Edri and Roy Nawi played the majority of the game for Ofir Haim’s side who was missing fellow teammates Roy Revivo and Dor Turgeman who were both called up to the senior and Under 21 national sides.
After missing the chance to reach the final following their Semi Final defeat to Uruguay, Israel lined up agaist South Korea for the match that will decide what team finishes the tournament in third place. Ran Binyamin put Israel infront with a spectacular scissor kick while the Koreans leveled the score before the break. Omer Senior’s volley on 76 restored Israel’s lead before Anan Khalaili sealed the victory and Israel’s historic campaign in the 85th minute.
