Maccabi will continue its European campaign tomorrow (Thursday, 21:00) with a tough trip to Sofia’s Vasil Levski National Stadium where they face local side CSKA Sofia a week after suffering a 0-3 defeat in Batumi.
Earlier this morning, the team held its final training session at the Kiryat Shalom training complex. Following the session, the players and staff headed to Ben Gurion Airport, from where the team departed for Sofia ahead of the match.
In order to keep their chances of advancing through and facing OFI Crete in the Europa league Play-off, Maccabi will aim to cancel the 0-3 deficit from the first leg and do so in front of around 25,000 home fans. In the event of elimination Maccabi will continue the journey in the Conference League Play-off where they will face the winner of the tie between Swiss side FC Lugano and NSI Runavik of the Faroe Islands.
The team will arrive in the Bulgarian capital later today and complete its preparations for the match
