To mark the country's Hannukah festival celebrations, Maccabi Tel Aviv decided to give their youngest fans the opportunity to ask the questions at a press conference for kids only!

How many times have you seen an interview on the telly or on your computer and thought to yourselves, "If that microphone were in my hands, I'd do it better!" To mark the country's Hannukah festival celebrations, Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club decided to turn away the army of professional journalists who daily cover events at the Club and give their youngest fans the opportunity to ask the questions instead. Fans aged 6 to 12 were invited to pose their questions on the Club's Facebook page and of the many children that responded fifteen were chosen to come to the media room at the Kiryat Shalom training grounds, where they were given a festive welcome including special seasonal treats called "suvganiot", sweets and drinks. But this was just the warm-up for the real thing.

Immediately following the final training session in the run up to Maccabi's League (Toto) Cup tie against Hapoel Haifa, MTA captain Sheran Yeini  and defender Yoav Ziv arrived at the media room and were greeted by a round of applause. Before opening the floor for questions, the two Maccabi stars joined the children in lighting the tradition Hannukah festival lights. After all the parents had left the room, the children began to ask their questions, hesitantly at first but after the ice had been broken the kids adjusted well to their roles as journalists and the really tough questions began to stream in.
