Omri Altman, the 19 year-old forward and product of the Maccabi Tel Aviv youth system, will join the rest of the Maccabi squad at their training camp in Austria

Maccabi Tel Aviv are in the advanced stages of contacts with the English Premier League side Fulham FC for the season-long loan of Under-21 Israeli forward Omri Altman. Altman, who departed to London two seasons ago, is expected to train for the first time with Maccabi today and join them at their training camp in Austria. The young striker rose through the ranks of the Maccabi youth system and after impressing as an Under-17 was given the opportunity to play for the Maccabi Under-19s even before his 17th birthday. After scoring in all four of his first matches, his talents caught the eye of the Fulham scouts.

Altman's first move in that direction was on loan but afterwards the London club decided to make his move permanent. He started at the Cottagers with the Under-21s but last season moved on to the reserve team where he made 24 appearances, scoring two goals. The 19 year-old was also a member of the Israeli national Under-21 side that competed in the Euro Under-21 championships held in Israel this past month. He made one appearance as a substitute in the 1-0 victory against England.
