Maccabi Tel Aviv "Shachar" will be travelling to last season's champions Maccabi Haifa in the second matchweek of the season. The first derby against Hapoel Tel Aviv will be in matchweek 12

In just over a month on the 7th of September, Maccabi Tel Aviv "Shachar", who finished second in the Israeli Youth Premier League last season, will kick off their 2013/14 season, one which will see them play two rounds of 30 matches and finish on the 17th of May 2014. Under the stewardship of Ziv Arie, who last year coached Maccabi's Under-17s, and with a squad that has undergone quite a few changes over the summer, Maccabi's Under-19s will attempt to regain the championship they conceded last year to Maccabi Haifa and to carry on providing the senior squad with top quality players.

Their opening match will be at home to league newcomers Hapoel Ra'anana, but the following week they will already make their way to Haifa for their first "match of the season" against last season's champions and recent top rivals, Maccabi Haifa. Last season's parallel fixture was one of the most disappointing moments for "Shachar", as their opponents found an equaliser deep into injury time to draw 1-1. Maccabi's Under-19s lost the league to Maccabi Haifa by a mere point and will be hoping to use this early intriguing encounter to bolster their confidence for the challenges they face in the road ahead.

The first round will see Maccabi's Under-19's playing away to Ashdod FC, Bnei Yehuda and Beitar Jerusalem. For the season's first derby, Ziv Arie's charges will have to wait till matchweek 12, when they host Hapoel Tel Aviv at the Kiryat Shalom training ground. The final tie of the first round will have "Shachar" travelling south to the capital of the Negev to face Hapoel Beer Sheva.
