On this day, the eve of the Tel Aviv derby, we mark the second anniversary of the passing of the young Erez Amira. Born on Moshav Hatzav, Amira was a dyed-in-the-wool Maccabi Tel Aviv fan, along with the rest of his family – his father Eli, his grandmother Rachel (affectionately known as "Grandma Maccabi"), and his cousins Adi and Tamir, who both play on Maccabi Youth Division teams. Erez used to come to matches in his wheelchair and one of his last wishes was that Maccabi would win the derby, a wish that ultimately came true. According to the family, the recent successes of Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club have proved to be a great comfort to the family in light of the loss of their son. May his memory forever be a blessing.
