This morning, new signings Eden Ben Basat and Nosa Igiebor passed their medicals and joined the team in training

Two days after agreeing terms at Maccabi Tel Aviv, Nigerian midfielder Nosa Igiebor and Israeli international striker Eden Ben Basat this morning passed their medicals and put their final signatures to their contracts. The two new signings joined the rest of the team in practice ahead of Wednesday's first leg of Maccabi's Champions League third round qualifier against Slovenian champions NK Maribor. Igiebor, who has spent the last two seasons at Spanish side Real Betis, is a member of the Nigerian national squad and made two appearances in his country's qualifying matches for the World Cup final this summer in Brazil. Together with ex-Maccabi and Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, Igiebor was part of the Nigerian squad that won the African Cup of Nations in the winter of 2013, scoring one goal and claiming two assists during the campaign.

Striker Eden Ben Basat joins Maccabi after having spent the last three seasons at French Ligue 1 side Toulouse, where he made 90 appearances and scored 21 goals. Prior to his 2011 departure for France, Basat, who will celebrate his 28th birthday in September, spent two seasons at Hapoel Haifa during which time he scored 27 goals. He's made ten appearances for the Israeli national team, scoring seven goals during their last campaign in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

After the two players' registration as Maccabi Tel Aviv players was approved by UEFA, it was decided that Igiebor will wear the number 40 jersey  and Ben Basat the number 5.
