Maccabi Tel Aviv FC held their annual Shachar Brickman memorial game at Kiryat Shalom 

On Thursday, Maccabi Tel Aviv Football club played its annual testimonial match in memory of Shachar Brickman, a devoted fan of the club. Brickman, son of Gidon Brickman, past chairman of Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Israeli Council of Sports Betting, died at the age of 38 after a serious illness. Since 2009 the Youth team, Maccabi Tel Aviv "Shachar", has been named in his honour and today at the Kiryat Shalom training ground the traditional memorial match in his memory was played against Bnei Yehuda. Maccabi’s CEO Martin Bain was also present at the event.

The game itself was played in three periods of 30 minutes each. Maccabi Tel Aviv ‘Shachar’ won the match that ended in a 4:2 to Maccabi. The crowd that was present at Kiryat Shalom enjoyed a combined youth team from the squad that recently won the league championship, and also the U-17’s players that are future to take the place of the players that are about to end their road at the youth department.

At the conclusion of the match a ceremony was held in which the players who participated in the match were handed out medallions to the players, and the Cup to the Maccabi Tel Aviv ‘Shachar’.
