Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv kicked off against Real Madrid in Zagreb in their opening round match with new Head Coach Ori Uzan in the sidelines.
Hen Ozeri started in goal with defenders Bar Galili, Nadav Amran, Noam Cohen and Peleg Moshe in front of him. Shay Golan, Eden Kartzev and Tomer Altman played in the midfield while Mahmoud Awesat, Eylon Almog and Or Dasa featured up front.
Maccabi began the game strong as Almog and Moshe each had an opportunity to beat the Blancos keeper but couldn’t find the back of the goal.
However, the Yellow & Blue gave up a goal in the adding half which gave Real Madrid the slim 1:0 win. Maccabi will face Slovenian side Maribor tomorrow evening at 19:00 Israel time in their second tournament match.
