Barak Itzhaki may not have been in the Starting XI, but number 10 in Yellow & Blue scored the decisive goal. After coming off the bench, the striker found the winner in Maccabi’s 3:0 victory over Maccabi Netanya and spoke about the contest from his point of view:

“It’s great to score. We knew that this was a very important match. We already played them and they made our lives very difficult. At the end of the day, the game was decided in the final minutes. I’m happy I scored and it opened the match up. These were 3 very important points.”

About his minutes:
“I started the last few matches, but I’m also not fully fit because I didn’t play much from the start of the season. I always say that I want to play more but I also have to be smart in order to take care of myself. Sometimes you have to do these things from the bench, but I’ve sent Jordi a message that I want to play as much as possible.”

Running to Carlos after the goal:
“I ran to Carlos and Dani Poyatos. They give us a lot of confidence and a lot of desire. They put in a lot during training just like they are players and they run even more than some of the players. They both believe in me, so I’m happy.”

About Beer Sheva losing points:
“We’re not interested in what happens with other clubs, just what happens with us. I’m happy as to how we have played recently and we are playing well. We are winning and it should continue that way. If we do continue that way, we won’t have to look at the other clubs. I believed that we were a good club from the beginning of the year. Now there’s the transfer window, we will see what will be, but I hope we will continue as to how we are playing over the last while.”
