Yesterday, Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv won their first match of the U19 International Winter Tournament when they defeated Beitar Jerusalem 2:1 in the competition’s opening contest. Today, Friday, Day Two go underway with another Yellow & Blue victory as Guy Tzarfati’s squad blanked Hapoel Beer Sheva 3:0. The match began well for the host’s as Maccabi took a 1:0 lead ten minutes into the clash when Omri Ram sent a cross from the right of the box to Rave Assayag who out the back home.

Maccabi doubled their lead when Tamir Glezer passed the ball to Gil Ben Shalosh who sent it into the right corner of the goal for a 2:0 advantage as the Yellow & Blue controlled the pace of play for the majority of the half.

Beer Sheva played more aggressively in the second half and had a number of chances including one that was just headed over the bar. However, Maccabi scored yet again this time thanks to Eyal Hen who elegantly beat the Beer Sheva keeper on a one on one situation to give the U19’s a 3:0 win for their second of the tourney.
