Yeini spoke about the desire to string a run of successful results: “We are always trying to create a run of victories, to look at the top of the table following the poor start to the season we experienced is not something we are doing right now. I can’t remember such a start to a season in a long while, but over the past three matches the points we have taken is beginning to look like the run we are looking for. Hopefully we could continue with this run of results”.

On the fact the defence has been leaking goals, Yeini replied: “We committed too many mistakes both as a team and personal errors. We are working on these things and putting our emphasis on the entire team’s defensive play as well as our personal actions. We analyse every match and working hard to be more consistent”.

The veteran captain who will celebrate his 35th birthday next week, spoke on whether Maccabi could rejoin the race for the title: “It is too early in the season so I am not even thinking about that. For the moment I am only focusing on how we could return to the form that I believe we should be in. Our potential is far greater as we have yet to reach our peak and I hope we could reach this a lot quicker. In this form, we don’t have room to make any further mistakes this season”.
