The State Cup Round of 32 draw teamed Maccabi up for another Tel Aviv derby this season against arch city rivals Hapoel. As both clubs face each other twice in the regular season and are also set to meet twice in the Playoffs as well, the Toto Cup Final was the fifth encounter. Thirty-two teams entered the draw at the IFA Headquarters on Thursday comprising 14 teams from the top-flight, 14 from the second division and four from the third tier. As a result, Maccabi and Hapoel will lock horns for the sixth time in the 2026/27 campaign and compete in all three domestic competitions.
Last season Maccabi met Hapoel in the Round of 16 and needed a penalty shoot-out to advance before going all the way to lift the trophy in May.
The Round of 32 matches will be played between December 24th and 28th at a week which will begin with a trip away to Maccabi Haifa on MD15, continue with the derby before Maccabi hosts Hapoel Be’ersheva for MD16.
