After receiving wall to wall compliments this past month for his fine play, Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Dor Peretz was voted by the Maccabi FIRST members as the HISENSE October Player of the Month.
The Israel National team player had a very successful month as he helped the Yellow & Blue move into first place along with Omer Atzily, Eyal Golasa, Chico Ofoedu and Dor Micha who also received plenty of votes.

Matchday 10 will see Macabi visit the northernmost stadium in the country when they face Haim Silvas’s team. Maccabi will certainly want to bring back a good result before the long break due to the National Team and reseeding the pitches throughout the league.
12.11-30.11: Break
There will be a three week Ligat Japanika break during the month of November. The Israel National Team will play Scotland in a decisive Nations League contest on November 20th and will also entertain Guatemala in a friendly on November 15th. In addition, the break will also be a chance to reseed the pitches for the winter weather that will be arriving soon.
7.11: Sigma Olomouc – Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv, 17:00 Czech Republic (1st leg)
After defeating Anzhi Makhachkala from Russia on aggregate, the Club’s Under-19 squad will play in the second round of the UEFA Youth Champions League. Guy Tzarfati’s players will face a quality Czech side as they’ll want to take another step towards the Playoff Round.

Eden Kartzev, 18, has signed a two year extension to his contract which will secures him at the Club until the end of the 2020/21 season.
The 18 year-old midfielder, who is a product of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Youth Department and has been training exclusively with the first team since the start of the season.

Having made his senior debut for Maccabi at the age of 17 in a Toto Cup match against Hapoel Ra’anana in August 2017, Kartzev, later joined Beitar Tel Ramle on loan where he scored 4 goals in 12 appearances in Israel’s second tier.
Kartzev, also made two appearances for Israel’s Under 21’s and has been a regular for the young national teams with a total of 53 international appearances.
Maccabi’s CEO Ben Mansford, told the clubs’ official website: “Eden needs no real introduction. He has been a stand out youth player for both Maccabi and Israel. I have been delighted to see the progress Eden has made with the Academy, on loan at Beitar Tel Aviv and especially since the start of preseason. Eden is a first team squad member on merit. This is another of our Academy graduates to commit their future to the Club. I am sure Eden will continue to develop and is pushing very hard for his opportunity with the first team.”
Kartzev added: “As a player who joined Maccabi Tel Aviv at the age of 13, this is my fifth season at the club and I am delighted that boyhood dream is receiving a rubber stamp. I am delighted to have extended my contract by two more seasons. I hope to make as much progress as possible and contribute from my ability to Maccabi Tel Aviv’s first team so that together we could reach achievements in the future”.
Performance Director, Patrick Van Leeuwen, added: “It is a great effort by the club to sign a young talented player with such qualities as Eden Kartzev, who could become an important player in Maccabi’s midfield if everything will go in the right direction”
The month of October saw Maccabi Tel Aviv reach the top of the table and it’s now time to vote for the HISENSE Player of the Month for a chance to win a brand new TV.
Maccabi FIRST members can choose the player that they thought were the best of the best beginning today Tuesday October 30th until Thursday November 1st at 13:00. At 17:00 on Thursday all those who chose the winning player will receive an SMS with a trivia question. The first to answer correctly will win a 32” TV from HISENSE.
Maor Kandil, the Maccabi Tel Aviv right back looked back at his club’s 3:1 win over Hapoel Haifa on Matchday 8 of the Israel Premier League Ligat Japanika and spoke about his time with the club:
“Everyone knows that it’s a battle to get into the squad. I worked hard and anytime I’ll get the chance I’ll show that I deserve to play. I worked hard in practice and I waited for my chance. When I had it I made sure to take advantage of it because you don’t know the next time you’ll have the opportunity.”
Playing for Maccabi:
“I knew where I was coming to and that there would be competition for playing time. I came from Bnei Yehuda to Maccabi Tel Aviv and I’m not going to give up on this opportunity easily.”
About the match:
“There are no easy matches and the early goal made our lives easier.”
Holding on to first place:
“Hadera is only a point behind us. We have good momentum and we are focussing only on ourselves and we have to continue to collect points. We will keep working hard in order to hold on to first place.”
Getting more playing time:
“I like the competition but it’s up to the coach. I know that I did my part and I want to give the coach a headache as I continue to play well.”
The rest of the way:
“We aren’t above the league but we have good momentum right now and you can’t take that away from us. We are dependent on ourselves and if that continues then I believe that things will go well the rest of the way.”
Hapoel Beer Sheva 1:1 Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv (U19)
After advancing to the second round of the UEFA Youth Champions League last week, the young Yellow & Blue drew at Beer Sheva on Matchday 9 of the Israel Youth Premier League. Maccabi “Oded” Tel Aviv, the club’s Under-17 team is off due to the international break. Eliezer Ben Aharon’s side has 5 representatives with the Israel National Team that advanced to the Elite Round of the European Championships.
Hapoel Nir Ramat HaSharon 0:0 Maccabi “Eli Fuchs” Tel Aviv (U16)
After defeating the top of the table club last week, the Under-16 squad ended in a goalless draw on Matchday 9. Head Coach Eran Sassi summed up the match: “This was a one-sided affair. We controlled the matchup as the opposition tried to counterattack. Our defense was solid and I’m happy about that, but on the other hand I’m very disappointed that we couldn’t score even though we had plenty of opportunities. We will have to work with the players when they have the chance to finish towards the goal and we want to continue to improve as each match goes by. Scoring goals gives the club confidence and strength to continue on.”
Hapoel Beer Sheva 0:2 Maccabi “Eldad” Tel Aviv (U15)
Following last week’s big win over Maccabi Haifa, the Under-15 side continued its positive momentum against Beer Sheva on Matchday 7. Oral Bahia and Oscar Glock gave the young Yellow & Blue the victory and helped move the side into first place. Head Coach Ori David spoke about the match that was: “We began strong and we did things correctly to take a 2:0 lead after 20 minutes. From there we had some problems finding the back of the goal on the attack but our defense played well and we won many 50/50 balls. However, we still have plenty of things to work on, primarily to play more quality minutes, but of course it’s always better to work on these things after a win.”
Maccabi Tel Aviv Head Coach Vladimir Ivic spoke about his team’s 3:1 victory over Hapoel Haifa on Matchday 8 of the Israel Premier League Ligat Japanika:
“I believe we played serious from the beginning to the end and this is what we need.”
Always improving:
“For some parts I was satisfied and for some parts I was not. We played one good game and we have to watch, analyze and improve some parts of our game.”
Just one point ahead of the second place team:
“The second place team is only one point behind us. We just will watch ourselves and continue to play well and improve day by day.”
Respect all opponents:
“We respect all of the teams and we respect Hadera. We believe in ourselves and we will continue to work and we can do it if we work hard.”
Eliran Atar’s play:
“Eliran is an important player for us and I am satisfied.”
Dor Peretz, the Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder looked back at the match and as well as his play following his side’s 3:1 win over Hapoel Haifa:
“It’s still the start of the season and we can’t look to far ahead as it’s only Matchday 8. We go from week to week as we improve and take points. We can only focus week to week and see where we want to be as the season continues on.”
Leading the league:
“We may be 10 points ahead of Beer Sheva but we are only one point ahead of Hadera. We are focusing on the league by working on ourselves week to week and that’s what we are concerned about.”
His own play:
“I believe that I take his instructions and apply them in the game and now that I also adding an element of scoring goals I’m also very happy as to how I’ve played the last while.”
