After raising over 60,000 NIS this past month thanks to the club’s fans, Achim Le’Semel and Pitchon Lev, the project culminated this morning with “Operation Passover Yellow & Blue” as the food boxes were packed and delivered to needy families across the country.

Kiryat Shalom began to buzz well before the 8:30 start time as hundreds of fans together with the players and the youth department began putting together the food packages to help make the holiday a bit sweeter for those in need.

Over the past month fans contributed over 60,000 NIS for the project which included more than 350 food boxes which were sponsored by Pizza Prego.

Captain Sheran Yeini commented about the project: “It’s always great to be able to help those in need. We’re a club that contributes to many community activities together with the Maccabi Tel Aviv FC Foundation which holds many, many activities and programs.”

Yeini added, “Thanks to all of these projects and activities, the participants have been able to become even more a part of the Maccabi family; we’re creating a fraternity. For a club of this size it’s incredible that the fans, players and club staff know how to work together for the ultimate goal of helping others.”

Foundation CEO Josh Halickman added, “There were so many fans who contributed towards the 60,000 NIS and together we were able to pack up so many boxes for needy families and that’s what is so important for the Yellow & Blue heart of Maccabi Tel Aviv. The Maccabi Tel Aviv FC Foundation is involved in so many projects including with Chinuch L’Psagot: Educating for Excellence, Etgarim, At-Risk youth, Lone Soldiers and many other programs where the heart of Maccabi is on full display as we continue to turn Maccabi Tel Aviv into one big family.”
