Passover at Kiryat Shalom with Zahavi & Ben Chaim
You’ve conducted the Passover Seder. You’ve looked for the Afikoman and you’ve had 4 cups of wine. But Passover wouldn’t be Passover without stopping by the Kiryat Shalom Training Facility. On Wednesday April 27th between 16:00-19:00, the Captain Eran Zahavi and winger Tal Ben Chaim will be waiting to meet you at the Official Team Store at the Training Facility.
How does it work?
Registration is open now, April 21st to all Maccabi FIRST members for the Community Day on Wednesday April 27th between 16:00-19:00 at the Kiryat Shalom Training Facility.
Each person may register up to 5 participants which includes the person submitting the registration. Juts like when you make a reservation at a restaurant, you request a table for yourself plus 4 friends for a total of 5.
IMPORTANT:
Maccabi Tel Aviv maintains the right to stop or cancel the event at any time. There is a possibility that even those who registered for the event in advance may not meet the players.
Due to the fact that Maccabi Tel Aviv wants to grant the maximum amount of people to meet the players, participants are not allowed to bring with professional photographers or videographers.
Entrance to the Training Facility will be granted only after a full security check. Each participant will need to present their Teudat Tzehut ID Card, License of Passport in order to take part in the event. Entrance will not be granted to those whose names do not appear on the official registration list!

LIVE from the Stadium! State Cup Semifinals!
We’re at Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa once again. Maccabi Tel Aviv takes on Bnei Sakhnin this evening in Israel State Cup semifinals action. The mission is clear: Defend the title! We’ll b there to bring you the match LIVE from the Stadium via the Official Website and App starting at 20:15.
How does it work?
Simple. All you have to do is click on the link that is posted on the day of the match. A webpage will open with our brand new player and you’ll be able to listen to the game and the broadcast will continue until you close the webpage. Remember the broadcast begins at 20:15!

Rikan: “We know what we have to do and we’ll get the job done”
Avi Rikan, Maccabi Tel Aviv’s defender spoke about the preparations for this evening’s Israel State Cup semifinals match against Bnei Sakhnin at Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa, 20:30. Rikan discussed the challenges that lie ahead both on Cup and League play as well as coming back from injury last week:
“I finally recovered from a not so simple injury and it was good to play last match. I’m healthy thank G-d and came into last game with a lot of motivation. I didn’t have much time to prepare but I’m putting in 100% for the State Cup match.”
The State Cup match against Bnei Sakhnin:
“This is a totally different type of match and they’ll be a winner when it’s over be it 90 or 120 minutes. We will put a lot of effort to score goals as we had trouble against Sakhnin last match. We learnt a lot from the last match and we’ll make sure to control the play, attack and score but we have to make sure that we pay attention to our defense as we don’t want to give Sakhnin any opportunities on the counter attack and score.”
Opportunity to win two titles this season:
“There’s only a month left, but there is still a long way to go. Every match right now is money time and every single one of us has to give more than 100%. I’m positive we will all come into the match against Sakhnin ready to go and get off to a good start to our busy month ahead. We know what we have to do and we’ll get the job done.”
A message for the fans:
“Right now we’re focussing 100% of our efforts on the State Cup match and then we can look ahead to Monday’s league game. I know it’s right before the holiday but come out and cheer us on and hopefully we can all celebrate together after the match to make this a very happy holiday.”
Maccabi “Shachar” defeat Petach Tikva 2-1
The Under-19 side will head into the Passover break after playing Maccabi Petach Tikva away following a 1:1 draw at Kiryat Shemona over the weekend. The goal for Maccabi “Shachar” was clear: Get back onto the winning track before the holiday.
Arie made a number of changes to his starting XI as Oliel Peretz continued to be part of the Senior Team and was unavailable for this match. Prince Thomas, Mahmoud Awesat and Eden Kartzev all featured for the young Yellow-and-Blue.
The game opened up in an aggressive manner by both teams as both Idan Yogev and Tomer Altman picked up yellow cards in the early going. There also weren’t very many chances on either Haviv Ohayon and Yonatan Rothschild’s goal, however that changed in the 43rd minute when Maccabi struck first.
Thomas found Gaby Kanichowsky in the box as the midfielder rifled home the ball to make it 1:0 in favor of the Yellow-and-Blue in the 43rd minute just as the two sides headed into the break.
The second half saw Maccabi “Shachar” take a 2:0 lead fairly quickly as Or Dasa scored a fabulous goal from a Kanichowsky cross. The hosts it the lead in the 85th minute on a Tai Beribo goal but the young Yellow-and-Blue were able to hold on to the 2:1 lead and pick up 3 valuable points.

The Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club would like to send its deepest sympathies to Dr. Udi Kaufman on the loss of his mother, Michaela Carol Kaufman. May you know no more sorrow.
Bosz: “We have a chance to win two prizes”
Head Coach Peter Bosz and central defender Carlos Garcia were present for the pre-match press conference prior to the Yellow-and-Blue’s Israel State Cup semifinal match versus Bnei Sakhnin in Haifa at Sammy Ofer Stadium. The Dutch coach spoke about the past few matches and how he wants to see his club play:

“I have only one experience playing Bnei Sakhnin and that match was tough with 5 men on defense and they played a compact game. I was happy we won but I’m sure the game on Thursday will be difficult but we will work hard in order to get a good result.”
Sakhnin has given up a lot of goals recently:
“I always try to look at my own team. If they have conceded a lot of goals over the past few games that doesn’t mean that they will against us. We have to concentrate and focus on our own players. We have to create more chances and get more goals.”
Differences between the match against Haifa and Beitar:
“I agree that there was a big difference between the game we played against Beitar Jerusalem and Maccabi Haifa. It was about how we did it. Our tempo was much higher against Beitar. We were more creative and we have to look at ourselves and focus on our own game. The way we played against Beitar is how we have to play and how we want to play.”
The opportunity to win two prizes:
“I’m excited. It’s all about winning and I’m excited to have a chance to win. We have two competitions that we can win the Cup and the League, but we haven’t won anything yet. We will have to work hard as we have a chance for both of these two prizes.”
Final words:
“We will play our own game and they know that we will attack so we will see in two days.”
Carlos Garcia also discussed the upcoming match:
On not being available for last year’s final:
“It was tough that I was injured and I couldn’t help the team in the final. I was happy we won the Cup but even if I don’t play and we win the Cup, I will be happy as well. The team is most important and we are going to try and win the cup again.”
