Fan banned from all team activities for five years

Five year ban to the fan who threw the flair in the derby and the lighter against Bnei Yehuda. The fan who threw the lighter against Bnei Yehuda was banned till the end of the season. A complaint against fans who rioted at Kiryat Shalom and a letter of warning to the fans arrested in Porto.

The fan who was caught throwing the Bengal flair during the derby match against Hapoel Tel Aviv received a five-year-ban from all club activities. The ban reflects information we received from the police that he was breaching an existing banning order by the courts and was supposed to be on house arrest.

The fan who threw a lighter during the Toto Cup match against Bnei Yehuda, an offence which also led to another Disciplinary Charge by the IFA – was also banned till the end of the season.

In addition, Maccabi Tel Aviv FC together with a steward working on the clubs’ behalf, filed a complaint with the Police against a fan who punched a steward during Friday’s training session at Kiryat Shalom. This fan already has a banning order in place from Kiryat Shalom and Bloomfield.

The club will continue its hard line stance by issuing banning orders and pursuing individuals for any fines the club receives.

Seven warning letters to fans arrested by the police in Porto were also sent.

The club warned fans against future involvement in such incidents which damage the reputation of the club whether inside or outside stadiums. Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club will continue with it’s hardline policy and zero tolerance towards those intent on causing the club harm.

Peretz- “We lifted ourselves up”

“It was a missed opportunity for me, but I’m happy that I had the chance. For me to have these types of opportunities is also a step up for me. I had to act quickly without thinking. If we didn’t end up scoring I may have really felt badly, but Carlos scored and we won so there’s no one happier than me. Maybe I saved the goal for Porto.” The midfielder said with a smile.

“We lifted ourselves up after the loss like we do after every match. We’ll continue forward and work on the things that we haven’t done that well with. We try to improve and fix up certain areas of our game and we saw in the derby that we were able to lift ourselves up after last week’s loss and win the game.”

The expectations placed on the team:4Z6A6351

“Expectations and expectations. Fans, commentators, analysts and journalists, everyone has – different expectation for us. Even when we win we may not look the best. When we don’t play well we say it like it is and last night that wasn’t the situation.”

On his recent play:

“I’m continuing on my path, always believing that I can play and that I’m good enough. I’ve proved that my place is on the pitch and I’m happy that the coach has the confidence in me.”

Rikan: I believe in hard work

Avi Rikan has been a centerpiece of Head Coach’s Slavisa Jokanovic team since Maccabi Tel Aviv acquired him during the summer from Zurich and proved once again against Hapoel in the 1:0 win his importance to the club. He talked about playing in his first League Derby, alongside goalscorer Carlos Garcia and looked ahead to the Champions League:

ריקן: “גרסיה עוזר לי המון במשחק”

“I also won a Derby in the Toto Cup but I felt the love from the people around the club over the last few days and how important it is. As a player participating in my first league Derby it’s fun but it was a tough game and it was headed for a 0:0 result but we won and it was great to win the first one.”

More on the match and shutout:

“I believe that if you work hard the whole game and you do what you should do, good things will happen if it’s from a set piece or by another fashion. We didn’t play a big game and neither did Hapoel but we are happy we didn’t give up a goal especially after giving up four goals last match. We’ll keep improving and smile right now but in a few days we have another game.”

On Carlos Garcia:4Z6A5797

“I played with him on Monday and he was so upset. He’s a serious guy, works so hard and it’s fun to play by his side. I’m not playing my natural position but he gives me a lot of help. You can only keep learning from him and I’m so thrilled that he scored the goal.”

The past week:

“I’m here for three months and have experienced so many things from the advancing to the Champions League to changing positions, there are just so many things going on. I’m learning every day and it wasn’t an easy week but we have many matches ahead of us.”

Porto’s coming to Israel this week:

“Having some big teams coming to Israel is a great feeling and the fans enjoy it as well during the days leading up to the match and the game itself. We didn’t play poorly last Champions League match and we were kind of shell shocked the first couple of games but we have started to play better and we have three games left with the first coming up on Wednesday.”
