The game opened at a good pace.  Both teams pressured the rival's ball leaders but found it difficult to threaten the two goalkeepers.  The first opportunity appeared 15 minutes from the opening whistle, in favor of the host, with a strong kick by Nasr flying slightly over Eniema's goalpost.  As the minutes passed, the yellow team warmed up and, in Minute 22, Atar kicked a ball to the center of the goal, but Ejide was right there.  Radi tried his luck from outside of the square, Dabber squeezed a save from Ejide and Atar skimmed the goalpost.  Just then, a stationery ball by Aviram Baruchyan found Nasr's head and set the advantage for the host.

Maccabi Tel Aviv's coach, Oscar Garcia, did not send in replacements at the beginning of the second half and four minutes afterward achieved a tie.  A sharp raise by Dahan confuses the host's defense and Moanes Dabour rolls the ball into the open net.  Just two minutes after the tying goal, an offensive by Beer Sheva presents an excellent save by Eniema after Suarez kicks the ball to the corner.  The yellow team did not generate many opportunities and, in Minute 66, they lagged behind again.  A short corner ball by Baruchyan to Osiako finds Markovic's head and then Vincent Eniema's goal.
