After a good start to the Heemskerk Cup on Day One of the tournament yesterday, Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv continued with another pair of matches against the balance of the teams in their group as the Yellow & Blue began Day Two by meeting Feyenoord.
AQ7A0870Eylon Almog drew Maccabi even just before the half as the club had gone down by a goal early on in the game. With two minutes remaining in the contest, the young striker scored again to give the young Yellow & Blue a 2:1 lead, however, with one minute left in the match Feyenoord tied it up as the side’s split the points.

The second match pitted Maccabi “Shachar” against Spartak Rotterdam as the Yellow & Blue gave up another early goal and couldn’t find an equalizer throughout the 50 minute game as Maccabi was handed their first loss in four matches. Ori Uzan’s squad finished third in their group setting up a 5th-6th place match against Swedish side Malmo.

In the final match of the competition, Uzan gave a very young lineup with little experience a chance to play as the Yellow & Blue fell 2:0 and ended the Heemskerk Cup in 6th position.

Maccabi “Shachar” will now continue on to their training camp which will also be held in Holland. Updates about the training camp can be found here on the Official Website, the App and of course Maccabi Tel Aviv’s social networks.
