Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv defeated Bnei Sakhnin 2:1 away on Matchday 20 of the Youth Ligat Ha’Al. Head Coach Guy Tzarfati was in Italy with a delegation from the Youth Department who were visiting Serie A outfit Atalanta. Handling his duties on the sidelines were Performance Director Patrick van Leeuwen and assistant coach Shaul De-Chukrel.

The young Yellow & Blue opened the match well and controlled the pace over the course of the first half. Prince Thomas started the contest in the midfield and in the 20th minute he gave his side a 1:0 lead by putting the ball behind the Sakhnin keeper. Just before the break the Under-19’s doubled the score as Eylon Almog found the back of the goal for a 2:0 advantage after 45 minutes.

The hosts were able to cut the lead to 2:1, however, Maccabi “Shachar” would not be denied the 3-points as they moved into 4th place with 34 points. The club will now get ready for a Big Derby against Hapoel “Nisonov” Tel Aviv next Matchday.
