Join the Battle against Multiple Sclerosis
Every single one of us has an anchor in our lives. Someone special who is with us during times of sorrow and times of need, that knows how to calm down a difficult situation and keeps us focused to move forward. Our own personal lifeline. Those with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) have been searching for that same anchor for many years to help in the fight against this incurable disease.
Today, we have the ability to help find a cure for this illness and both the Maccabi Tel Aviv Captain Eran Zahavi and Hapoel Beer Sheva Captain Elyaniv Barda have joined forces in this struggle. With the upcoming match between the two teams coming up at Turner Stadium, the two captains and their teammates are urging all of the fans to join them in helping raise funds and enable more patients to be a part of a revolutionary experiment that may find a real cure to the disease.

Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv – Hapoel “Robi” Haifa 12:00, Ramle Stadium
The Under-19 club will look to pick up a victory on Saturday when they kick off against their Hapoel Haifa counterparts on Matchday 21 of the Toto Youth League. After falling to the Greens from the Carmel last week, the gap between first and second place widened to six points. Ziv Arie will have the players who had gone to the Under-17 Elite Tournament back as they try and cut the margin once again.
Maccabi “Oded” Tel Aviv – Beitar “Oren” Jerusalem 09:00, Kiryat Shalom
Following a lengthy break, Ori Uzan and Leon Asraf’s charges will get back to action as they face Beitar Jerusalem’s Under-17 side at the Kiryat Shalom Training Facility. With a victory, Maccabi “Oded” will remain at the top of the table with a two point advantage.

Just a day before the club’s first teams play each other, the Under-16 sides take to the pitch after coming back from the International break.

Maccabi “Eldad” will look to add to their nine point lead at the top of the table as the Under-15 side takes on their counterparts from Kiryat Ono.

Alberman: “We have to play our style of football”
Gal Alberman, the Yellow-and-Blue’s defensive midfielder looked ahead to Sunday night’s WINNER League Playoff Round tilt on Matchday 28 when they visit first place side Hapoel Beer Sheva. The southern club holds a one point advantage over Maccabi coming into the contest as Alberman talked about the importance of the match and the battle for the league title:

“I haven’t heard that this match is worth 6-points but it’s an important game and we want to come and play our style of football and show that we are a dominant team. These are three very important points as is every other game going forward.”
On Beer Sheva’s form coming into the match:
“It’s hard to begin looking at all of the games that have been and what will be. Beer Sheva could be in first place up until the last week but it’s all about timing. Even though they have had a terrific undefeated streak we are still just one point away from them.”
The club’s experience in the stretch run of the season:
“We have a team that knows how to play in these types of matches as we have been competing in the playoffs over the last number of years. I don’t believe that we have a lot of pressure on us and our self confidence is very good going into these games.”
Would you be satisfied with a draw:
“Over the course of the year we never went into a match that we didn’t feel we could win. Again our confidence is high and we have belief that we can win at any stadium and on any pitch. We will come in and play good solid team football and that’s what’s most important.”
Style of play since the arrival of Peter Bosz:
“There has been a lot of improvement along the way with the style we are playing and if you look at a graph you would see how we have been progressing.”
On retiring from the National Team:
“I’m totally satisfied with the decisions I’ve made and also in connection with the National Team. I retired because it was time to do so.”
Bosz: “These are the best games to play in”
Yellow-and-Blue Head Coach Peter Bosz is readying his side for the first of two WINNER League Playoff matches against Hapoel Beer Sheva at Turner Stadium this Sunday evening March 20th at 20:55. Though this match will not decide the Championship, Bosz will attempt to find the winning formula to move into first place in this top of the table clash:

“I think every game we play until the end of the season is crucial. This game is not final and if we win or lose it’s still not the final result. There are still plenty of games left in the season. It’s an important game and so are the other 8 games after this game.”
Coming into the match in good form:
“Everyone understands that it’s better to come into this game winning and not drawing. But it’s an away game for us and it’s important that we have been playing well prior to this match.”
About the type of match one can expect Sunday:
“As a player these are the best games to play in. I can tell the players what to expect and help them but at the end of the day it’s up to the players to perform on the pitch.”
The critical loss of Tal Ben Chaim for Sunday’s match and the potential formation:
“That’s for sure, but you will see on Sunday. Things can change and I always think about surprises.”
Injury status of Avi Rikan, Omri Ben Haursh and Nosa Igiebor:
“Avi and Omri will be training with us today and we will see how they are doing. Nosa will not train with us but will be training on the side.”
Are you afraid before facing Hapoel Beer Sheva:
“No. Why be afraid. They have a good team and you must always respect your opponent, but why be afraid. I have a lot of respect for them.”
On the Israel National Team not selecting captain Tal Ben Haim for the upcoming Croatia friendly:
“I’m not the one who selects the players for Israel but my opinion is that Tal Ben Haim is a fantastic defender. He hasn’t played the last few weeks as he was coming off an injury after having played the first bunch of games for me. He played well for the 90 minutes in the Cup game. Since he has been so important for the country for so long I would have selected him but I am not the one who makes the decisions for the National Team”
The lengthy season:
“I think every country has the same problem when it comes to National teams. The players with Maccabi began this year in the middle of June and didn’t have off in December. The players have played 46-47 games this year and that’s a lot. They have to have a few weeks off in the summer for a break or else there will be injuries. They need rest. Remember Maccabi also represented the country in Europe. If we need to start our season on June 30th in the Europa League they will need to begin training June 14th, they need time off.”
Good Deeds Day at Kiryat Shalom
Good Deeds Day is celebrated in over 70 countries around the globe with one goal in mind, to do good deeds for others. Maccabi Tel Aviv hosted children from UNICEF, Peres Center for Peace and the Special Olympics.

The children participated in training exercises at four different stations where youth department coaches gave them a chance to practice some of their skills and learn some new techniques. Three players including Eli Dasa, Eitan Tibi and Yuval Shpungin along with Maccabinio were also present and played with the kids, signed autographs and took plenty of pictures.
Eli Dasa spoke about the importance of Good Deeds Day that he had a chance to take part in: “I wish this would happen every day. There’s nothing like seeing happy children and giving them some attention. This is a great program where we can show them love and they in turn love us back, it’s a lot of fun.”

Garcia: “The BS match won’t decide the championship”
Just a day after the first win in the Championship Playoff Round, Maccabi Tel Aviv moved to within just one point of Hapoel Beer Sheva, prior to the sides kicking off next week in the first of two playoff matches between the teams.
Following the last night’s match, Carlos Garcia discussed the upcoming tilt between the clubs and the 90 minutes he experienced against a determined Bnei Sakhnin side:
“It wasn’t an easy match and we had already seen last week against Beer Sheva how dangerous they were on the counterattack. At the end of the day this is the Championship Playoffs and we opened them up with a win.”
On the style of play in yesterday’s match:
“I have to say that this style of play is only used here in Israel. It’s very difficult when the opposing team has every player defending, but we’re used to it. As defenders ourselves, it’s very important to concentrate 100% for the whole match otherwise the counterattacks could be devastating.”
About next week’s match:
“It’s an important game, but the Beer Sheva match won’t decide the championship.”

Maccabi “Shmuel” Haifa 3:0 Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv
Ziv Arie’s charges fell to defeat at the hands of Maccabi Haifa at Kesef as the gap between the Yellow-and-Blue and the Greens widened to 6-points. For the full match recap CLICK HERE
Maccabi “Eldad” Tel Aviv 3:1 Hapoel Beer Sheva
Ra’ava Assayag, Tashagar Dego and Menachem Asraf all scored for Maccabi “Eldad” in a top of the table clash against Hapoel Beer Sheva at Kiryat Shalom. The win now gives the young Yellow-and-Blue a 9-point lead.
SC Nesher Football 1:4 Maccabi “Team 2” Tel Aviv
Ran Elias and his Under-15 side picked up the win away up north against Nesher and moved into first place for the time being. Ariel Shridzicky, Amit Yakov and Eden Silam with a brace all score for Maccabi.
